With the release of Marvel’s Star Wars (Vol. 3) #9, the series begins a new three-issue arc dubbed “Operation Starlight.” The Charles Soule-written, Jan Bazaldua-illustrated, Rachelle Rosenberg-colored and Clayton Cowles-lettered issue sets the stage for a desperate gambit by the Rebellion to preserve what’s left of their codes and, in the process, restore a long-dead language back to the galaxy. It’s evocative of not just World War II’s Navajo codetalkers, but also shows how desperate times call for desperate measures.
